Acrylic on canvas; all supplies included.

Create several small, beautiful and fun pieces of art on 5 in x 7 in cards made from high-quality watercolor paper using a product you may never have heard of before – Dr Ph Martin’s Hydrus Watercolors.  These are highly pigmented watercolors already mixed with water to the correct concentration so you have the perfect combination right out of the bottle!  This saves time, guesswork and ensures a consistent color every time.  Lori Lambert will show you several easy techniques using saran wrap, a plastic needle work canvas, drywall tape, wet tissues (spit wads!) and more.  This is a great class for absolute beginners as well as experienced water color artists looking for new techniques.  Class includes the cards, envelopes and plastic protective sleeves.  They can also be easily and inexpensively framed.

Tole painting is the folk art of decorative painting on objects and furniture.

Tole is often referred to as “one stroke painting”.  Two or more colors are loaded into the brush to produce the highlight, body color and shadow of each element of the design and then painted with one stroke of the brush.  This method is much quicker than adding each color separately.

Join Janice McGarvey to learn this fun and beautiful method of decorative painting.  Bring your own objects to paint – wood, metal, stoneware, etc.  You will have plenty of time to complete 2 or more pieces.  This is a great class for beginners and a refresher course for those who may have tole painted many years ago.

Class runs from 9 am – 4 pm, with a break for lunch noon – 1 pm.

Pack your lunch, schedule delivery, or try one of the eateries downtown.
